The Deep is one of the most spectacular aquariums in the world. Home to over 5000 animals including magnificent sharks, rays, turtles and the UK's only pair of Green sawfish. Not forgetting an array of bugs, snakes, turtles and a colony of Gentoo penguins!
Journey through the dramatic story of the world’s oceans – from tropical lagoons to the chillier northern climes. Enjoy a unique blend of aquaria mixed with interactive stations and information about the work we do as an education and conservation charity.
Catch some of The Deep's daily highlights around the attraction – discover small creatures native to UK shores in our touch pool sessions, see the penguins being fed in one of the twice-daily feeding sessions and watch our divers feed our sharks and rays or cleaning their enclosure during the daily dive show at 2pm.
Finish your visit by taking a walk through the underwater viewing tunnel, before riding in our glass lift through the 10m Endless Ocean exhibit.

FISH AND OLIVE ART INSTALLATION
1 November to 22 December 2017
The Deep’s 3rd floor gallery will play home to a thought provoking series of artworks from six artists in 2017, all with a marine theme. Our next installation will feature Greek artists Alexander Reichardt and Katharina Bolesch and includes lithographic prints, jewellery and ceramics.
This work creativity reflects his life-long relationship with the sea and especially of the Aegean. He has travelled widely throughout the Mediterranean world and has lived for many years on the Cycladic island of Naxos where, with his wife, the celebrated potter Katharina Bolesch, he has established the internationally acclaimed Fish & Olive gallery in the ancient village of Halki.
Reichardt's compelling imagery is based strongly on the motif of the fish as the all-encompassing symbol of the sea and its fruitfulness. His exquisite fish designs feature on the ceramic and porcelain work of Bolesch and are incorporated into artefacts of luminous beauty that include silver jewellery, Naxian marble, brass, wood, and lithographs.
